Weekend Writing Warriors #2

“If the angel deigns to come it will be because you have convinced her, not by tears but by your humble resolve to be always beginning: to be a beginner.” ~Rilke

Life is busy but I still need to check in with a few anchors – books and writing. This excerpt is from a different story I’ve been playing with:

The face Jowka had chosen to bear today was a familiar one. Her friends insisted on changing bodies on a whim but she’d settled on this one. Names were odd gifts too. Jowka stenciled in her name on the inside of the fresh book.

Jowka turned the page. Her hand stung. She bit her lip over the red stain on the white sheet. Papercuts were an unfortunate human experience.

  1. Neat feature, Glazia! This is a really nice idea. Is the top quote yours, too?
I just got back into writing my current WIP last night and after a few weeks where for whatever reason I just didn’t touch it, I’m really happy to be back in the world. Writing is really nice, because you can write about things you’re scared of and want to be real and it becomes so alive. Creating characters who you then form relationships with is really special. Ah. Sharing the love of writing! Xx

    1. The top quote is from a writer/poet – Rainer Maria Rilke. His advice is usually spot on. Thanks! Don’t worry, I’ve taken weeks/months breaks on WIPs. Sometimes, space is what you need before you can dive back into creativity.
